Time for School

On August 4 I will begin my fall semester in my pursuit of my Master's of Engineering in Engine Systems. This semester I will be taking Engine Fluid Dynamics, which concentrates on airflow. I have been looking over the material and it seems to be a sound application of traditional compressible flow to engine air handling design. I think the real-world application will keep me more interested in the material than a traditional theory-only course would. Some of the examples I have read examples that have discussed different modern intake manifold designs with variable length ports, which was one of the more interesting example problems i have seen. Unfortunately, I have been told that this is one of, if not the most difficult classes I will have to take, and we have been told to expect 25 hours/week of work for the first few weeks. I am reviewing the first few assignments to try to get ahead.

Side note. I will be in NM this Thursday night through Monday, Sept 3.
