Under Cover

When I brought my car home from the muffler shop, I noticed a small oil leak from the valve covers onto the headers. While this problem is annoying enough on its own, its multiplied by the fact that I have header wrap on my headers. So, at low temperatures, the oil will leak onto the header wrap, become absorbed, and smoke until burned off. Today I took both valve covers off and added a bead of silicon. I had been running rubber gaskets without the silicon, but I guess that only worked for so long. I did both sides just for the sake of prevention. Everything under the valve cover looked good. All the rocker arms were tight, no gunk, no complaints. Now I just need some decent weather so I can take it out for a drive. . .

You may want to put those valve covers back on before you take it for a spin.

...ehh, nevermind.

I drove it to work and back already. Why back? I got in such a rush to get it out of the garage and on the road i forgot my laptop. I came back to work in the truck.
