Oh, Canada!

Dan reminded me that I am way behind on my bloggin'. So, I will attempt to recall everything in the right order and blog appropriately. I spent the 4th of July and a few days of vacation afterwards with Raven in Michigan, and some time in Canada. I went up there on Tuesday, got lost on the way up, and then had a beer and crashed. On the 4th, Raven and I spent the day lowering his Rabbit. If I recall correctly, we didn't do much after that because it took so long to do. Thursday we took his car to get re-aligned at the dealership, went to the mall, and at at a Japanese steakhouse. It was good, but we got stuck sitting at the table with a pretty bitchy woman and at least 2 of her kids, and their 2 friends. The kids were less than 10, so she payed a good deal of money for an experience they really wouldn't appreciate. $15 plate versus a $4 happy meal, and you know which way the kids would've gone on that one.


I think Thursday night Raven and I went go-karting at an indoor track in Indy(err Utica, thanks Raven). His fastest lap was ~0.8 seconds faster than mine, so he wins, but it was good cheap fun.


Friday we hit up the auto Museums; Chrysler, VW, and the GM Renaissance Center. The Chrysler museum was lacking on 60's muscle, except for the basement, where I found a phooning (thanks, Dan) Raven. Afterwards, we went to Canada, ate at The Keg, which looks across at Detroit, then went bar hopping. I am pretty sure we succeeded at drinking in every single bar on the main strip, and a few on the side streets. This required us to stay the night in the Ramada, and then drive home the following day. Saturday was mostly recovery. I was hurtin. Then we got to see the neighbor's firework show, which was cut short due to the authorities. They had Indiana fireworks (which leave the ground) in Michigan, which is apparently unacceptable.


Sunday was the long drive home, but I managed to do it without getting turned around.
