The Summer of Speed Continues

More cars, more racing. Saturday afternoon I went back to Jeffersonsville for the Figure 8 school bus racing. Beforehand they had the usual figure 8 classes, which didn't result in much carnage, but was fun none-the-less. The school bus racing took the cake. While the cars typically play it a little conservative and are out to win, the school buses looked to inflict damage. I got some great video, and a few pics. For those that missed it, they will be doing it again Friday, September 7.

Sunday was a very damp Indy 500. So damp, in fact, that we split after about 113 laps. Raven, Leif, and I got great seats from a scalper. We were in the upper section of the North Stand, between turn 3 and 4, getting a good vantage to see the cars exit turn 3, enter and exit turn 4, and start heading down the front stretch . The tickets were $80/each face value, and we scalped them for $60/each. Score. We stayed up until the rain, and then continued to hang out in the rain until we finally gave up and packed it in. The racing was intense. The sound of the Honda engines turning 10,000 RPM as they flew by was like nothing I had ever heard. It was a completely different pitch than the F1 cars or the deep base of drag cars. defiantly a great time.

How high is Raven in that picture? Is he pointing for more hotdogs?
