New Years

Yesterday I celebrated New Years for the first time in a foreign country. It was a lot of fun. Today, however, town is completely empty. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find food, but low and behold the only place open for miles was a McDonalds.

Since I landed I have only been in a motor vehicle once, and that was the bus from the airport to the center of town. I can't remember the last time I went more than a week without driving a car. Based on the cost of things around here, I am going to keep walking for a while. To insure a used Boxster its ~2000 GBP ($3500) per year. It was ~$850 per year in the states. Even a used GTI costs in the neighborhood of 800 GBP ($1200) per year. That is a lot more reasonable, but I am going to see how long I can go on the Nike's.

Oh, and while I have taken a lot of pictures since I have been here, I cant find a single USB cable. I had them laying all over the house before I left, so I am assuming that they are sitting on a boat right about now. Tomorrow I'll pick up another one and try to get the pics up.

I expect lots of shots! Do you have a flickr feed or anything?

If not, you should consider getting an account.
