Some things go bad, others go boom

When it rains, it pours. Actually its raining right now, and it supposed to keep raining for the next 10 days. At least I get to escape it for the weekend when I go back to New Mexico for Raven's, Jeff's, and Phil's graduation. But seriously....

My television blew up. About 2 nights ago, I had the vertical strip of color, with the remainder of the screen being black. This has happened before, and usually just needs a good smack on the side to make it go full screen. Not this time. I smacked it, and then the TV started hissing, popping, and of course, smoking like crazy. I unplugged the TV, and let it smolder. So, now I need to buy a new one. That was my bedroom TV, which was a 27 incher I believe, and was given to me by my grandparents, which was with me for the better part of my college career. Rest in peace, Zenith.

If that wasn't enough for the week, I got my BMW block back from the machinist several weeks ago, but didn't bother taking it out of the engine bag for fear of rust (did I mention its raining for 10 days straight?). Well, I got my bearings and piston rings on order, so I figured it was time to prep the block. I looked at the deck surface, and found it to be very rough. So I have since taken back to the machine shop to be decked. I told them to take off as little as possible, because the cylinder head is being decked, and I am running high compression pistons. I bet I end up having to get my pistons flycut to make more clearance for the valves. Damnit.

In Mustang news, I am shackle dropping the rear end to make more clearance for my slicks. The hardware that came with the new shackles are too long, so I need to make a run to the hardware store to pick up some shorter bolts. Thank you Mr. Gasket.

In my mean time I am studying up for my Indiana drivers license as well as the Motorcycle safety test. I don't know how the rest of you find time to keep blogging. . . . Hah, spell check on blogger.com doesnt recognize blogging as a word. fantastic

I'm sure Mr. Gasket would be happy to sell you a gasket spacer kit for times when your shackle bolts are too long.
