German vs Italian

So. as many of you know, I own 4 cars; 2003 VW GTI 20th Anniversary, 2000 Ford F-250 Powerstroke Crewcab 4x4 ( THANKS DAD!!!), 1975 BMW 2002, and a 1970 Ford Mustang fastback. All of these cars have thier purpose, the GTI is the sporty daily driver, the F-250 is my tow vehicle and people/stuff hauler, the Mustang is for drag racing and car shows, and the 2002 is being made into an SCCA road racer. Out of all 3, the GTI is costing me the most money. Between the payments and full coverage, the car costs about 450/month, plus gas, oil changes, weekly washes, tires, etc. I am beginning to think that is money which would be better spent elsewhere. I have began looking at motorcycles to replace it with. The thing is, I dont want a Japanese bike, and American (Harley/Buell) bike is just a $5,000 bike with a $10,0000 nameplate with an image to back. That leaves 3 countries, Germany, Italy, and England. The BMW bikes are a bit more of touring bikes than I want, Triumphs are hit in miss on styling, and the sport bikes have more power than i want for a starter bike, so that just leaves Italy. There are 3 major bike manufacturers in Italy, Moto Guzzi, Ducati, and Aprilia. Moto Guzzi has some fantastic looking bikes, especially the V11 Sport. Unfortunetly, they are expensive, and would negate the cost savings idea. The Aprillia 1000 Mille is again a beautiful bike, but after talking with an Aprillia dealer in Cincinatti this weekend, I found out that they are unreliable about getting thier delears parts. The saleseman mentioned that they have had 8 week leadtimes waiting on parts to get in from Italy, so that rained on that parade. So, ducati. Soooo hot. I am infatuated with the Ducati 620 Monster. It doesnt have the power of say, a 600 CBR, but the naked styling is devine. The dealer in Cincinatti said that they have about a 1 week leadtime on parts from Italy, and appeared to keep most things in stock. The 620 was also his best selling bike, so parts will be more popular for it than the others. A new one is $7,500, and ive seen used ones for about $5,000. If I sell my VW, I could pay off the balance I owe on it, get a bike, and have change to spare. Insurance is about $100/month, so there is a definate savings to be had. The thing most people are going to
