Barnard Castle

I just got back from Barnard Castle, about 15 miles from my place. It was mostly ruins, but was still amazing to see and spend some time walking around. There was enough left to go inside, go up some spiral staircases, and get a feel for how it used to be. It was also in a pretty cool little town.

There is another castle nearby, in Staindrop, but it is only open seasonally. It looks much more impressive and I am really anxious for it to open up.
