Patience
Saturday my block and heads should be done at the machine shop and I can finally start reassembling my engine. The only thing the shop is waiting on now is the springs, and then they can fully assemble the heads. The block should go together fairly quickly now, as I have already gapped the rings and checked the crankshaft for bearing clearance and endplay. The only thing that I don't have is my fuel injection system which will need to be adapted to the new intake manifold.
Once the engine is assembled, I plan on starting the body work and paint, while saving for the 5 speed manual. Its coming together, just a taking a little longer than I figured.

DON'T BUY THAT TRANSMISSION! It has huge holes in the case, and the manfacturer appears to have cleaned all of the assembly lube off of the gears.
You may encounter problems with that transmission later.

Nonsense. They are 'speed louvers' and they machined the case down to save weight.

Do you really need a five speed if all you are doing with the car is drag racing?

Dan -- what I lose in strength I gain in weight savings.
Phil -- If it was just a drag car, no. Since its a street-strip car, yes.
