images to come

This weekend I took the train down to Birmingham to see my cousin and his girlfriend. It was a lot of fun and I got some really good pictures. Unfortunately, I lost my USB cable, so I wont be able to post them until tomorrow.

Yesterday I went to the gym. Have I talked about the gym yet? Well anyway its right around the corner from me, and has an indoor pool, what appears to be an olympic diving board, racquetball courts, nice workout facilities and a bunch of other stuff I'll probably never use. The problem I have is that all the weights are in kilograms. So I have just been dividing stuff by 2 and figuring its close enough. To help you (and by you, I mean the British) out they have conversion charts on the wall which convert kilos to stones. So, if I wanted to I could use the conversion chart and then multiply by 14, but I am not that concerned about it.

The cool thing was when I stepped on the scale. Since moving here I have lost 1 stone, or 6.4 kilograms, or 14 pounds!! This is without my usual weight loss efforts of tons of running and extreme dieting. Just the amount of walking that I do everyday combined with the smaller portion sizes, less drinking (believe it or not, mostly due to not having one or 2 with my friends in the evenings anymore) and less fried food seems to have done the trick. In less than a month, I have gone from obese to barely overweight (according to BMI). I have every intention of getting into the "normal" region, but I am interested to see how much of this will fall of naturally just from the change in lifestyle. I'll keep you updated.
